As a Sports Coach and NLP Practitioner I have found that many athletes have many limiting beliefs about their ability to succeed and to win. These beliefs are formed over time by the way you were raised, your parents' expectations, your own expectations, and your coach's expectations. Often these beliefs can be so deeply rooted that they become a part of you. They become your reality, even though they may not be true.
How can you change these limiting beliefs? You can learn how to reframe them! Reframing is simply changing the way you see things in order to change how you feel about them. In other words, it's changing the meaning behind what happened rather than focusing on the event itself. This is important because if we focus on events, then we tend to keep seeing those same events over and over again in our lives as if they are happening for the first time!
When you reframe an event or situation, you start seeing things differently which allows you to create new pathways in your brain and therefore new experiences in your life! You will find yourself doing things differently than before because now there's no longer any reason why not!
